Weekly Menu's
I have had a few people ask me if I would write down everything that I eat or prepare during the week. I am going to keep a food journal on this site of everything that I make for my family for a couple weeks. This will hopefully give you idea's for your house. I am warning you in advance it may be pretty boring! You can find the recipes in my book and some are on this website. You can e mail me if you have any questions.
I use all organic in our house. From the condiments and spices to the meats and veggies. My meat is always organic AND grass fed. There is a difference. Organic is hormone and antibiotic free, but still fed grains that could be tainted with chemicals and is higher in fat. Organic and grass fed meat is much leaner and way better better for you. I also use no sugar in my baking or cooking, not even the raw sugar. I use pure maple syrup instead. It works!
I have found that when we have a good breakfast with protein it really does carry us through the day. Savana rarely asks for a snack and I think it is because of the high protein low carb (sugar) way we start the day. If we are hungry after dinner that is when we will eat an organic breakfast cereal with raw milk that we get from an local farmer. I will usually have cut up banana and blueberries on mine. We have this a good 3 times a week instead of a dessert.
These menu's have changed considerably because we are really incorporating more raw foods into our diet. This is good for the transition from eating unhealthy to a new lifestyle of healthy. For those of you that already eat healthy you will want to start learning more on raw foods. One of the best sights with great recipes is www.goneraw.com
MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO EACH MORNING: DRINK LEMON WATER AND WATER OR HAVE FRUIT AND/OR VEGETABLES UNTIL YOU HAVE HAD A BOWEL MOVEMENT. WE MAKE A FRESH FRUIT/VEGETABLE JUICE EVERY MORNING. LOOK FOR MY JUICE RECIPES UNDER THE JUICEING TAB.
